The Princess: The Powerful Tale of Female Strength and Determination
This movie really impacted me. Despite the mixed reviews, that doesn’t matter to me because in my opinion, it’s a solid 5 out of 5. I have a penchant for action-packed movies, especially those featuring women. The concept of a female assassin is unparalleled. Growing up I always felt powerless so I gravitate more to women kicking ass. This explains my fondness for this film. It is a narrative about a woman reclaiming her self-confidence. She battles to regain her kingdom. What more could one ask for?
“The Princess” begins with Joey King opening her large, expressive eyes, setting the stage for the film. This movie is a blend of comedy, fantasy, and a touch of drama. It’s a familiar tale: a king compels his daughter to marry in the absence of sons, leading to turmoil. However, this princess has been training her whole life. Her refusal to marry and subsequent flight trigger the unfolding events. From her awakening, she is relentless in her fight, a spectacle I thoroughly enjoyed. Set in the medieval era, the portrayal of a woman so formidable was extraordinary. Here are some of my observations.
- The king was USELESS. My gawd the only time he grew a spine was 10 minutes because the movie ended. His daughters and wife had more courage than he did
- This movie has a strong message of defying the norms of society. It challenges traditional gender roles by portraying a princess who is not just a damsel in distress but a fierce warrior fighting for her kingdom
- The film showcases the strength and determination of the protagonist, emphasizing that even in the face of overwhelming odds, resilience and courage can lead to triumph
