Is Sofia Carson Our New Netflix IT Girl?

Sofia Carson has been dazzling our screens since her Disney Channel days — and she’s still doing Disney, from what I remember. But lately, I’ve been wondering: is she becoming the new queen of Netflix?

A couple of nights ago, my boyfriend and I settled in for a typical movie night and watched The Life List. The film follows a young woman grieving the loss of her mother to cancer. It was emotional, heavy, and honestly, I thought it was a good movie.

Then we watched My Oxford Year — and oh my God. If I thought The Life List was rough, Oxford Year was on the same level. I could guess what was going to happen almost scene by scene, and yet I was still upset by the ending. But the fact is Sofia Carson is everywhere on Netflix.

Let’s not forget she also starred in Purple Hearts — a movie I won’t touch, but it’s still part of her growing Netflix resume. It’s clear: Netflix loves Sofia Carson, and maybe we should too.

🎬 So, What Do You Think?

Did you like the movies? Hate them? Love them despite the flaws? I personally enjoyed them — and I don’t care what critics say. They’re typical rom-coms, and that’s exactly what I signed up for. You know what you’re getting, and sometimes that’s comforting.

πŸ’” Rom-Coms Are a Dying Breed

I’m excited to see Sofia Carson stepping into this space because romantic comedies are fading fast, and I need more of them in my life. Speaking of rom-coms...

πŸ‘‘ Where Is Queen Latifah?

She’s one of the queens of rom-coms in my opinion — right up there with Reese Witherspoon, Cameron Diaz, and Julia Roberts. Reese gave us Sweet Home Alabama, Queen Latifah gave us Just Wright, and Cameron Diaz? She took a break but just came back with a movie alongside Jamie Foxx. It was good, but I’m craving her rom-com energy. I could totally see a Netflix Rom Com original starring The Queen.

And Julia Roberts? She’s not that old! She can still carry a movie — and I’d love to see her in another romantic comedy.
