Reel Fashion: Wakanda Forever

This is going to be a long one so buckle up b*tches lol

Black Panther is a film that has left an indelible mark on us. It first graced our screens in 2018. We were keenly aware of the cultural revolution it was set to ignite. Until then, African American superheroes were scarce, let alone ones proud of their African heritage. The fervor surrounding the movie was unprecedented. People flocked to the theaters adorned in vibrant African prints, celebrating the triumph of this cinematic masterpiece. This post pays homage to Wakanda Forever. We cannot overlook the heart-wrenching loss of the illustrious lead, Chadwick Boseman. He tragically succumbed to cancer in 2020. My admiration for him predates his portrayal of Wakanda’s king. “21 Bridges” holds a special place in my heart among his works. Chadwick, you will be eternally missed.

Moving on to the topic, “Wakanda Forever” boasts an array of stunning outfits and memorable lines. The legendary Ruth E. Carter, the creative genius behind these designs, delivered exactly what we needed. Ruth E. Carter has extensive experience from films like “Do the Right Thing” and “Black Panther.” Here are some of my top favorites.

The jewelry in this was nothing short of amazing as well. The beading, the earrings, and that CUFF. I gag it’s too good. (even though I wasn’t a fan of the way the movie ended with him IYKYK).

Let’s take a moment to acknowledge the fashion. They go all out in celebration even for a going home ceremony. Watching this in theater it was hard to focus because the scene was so heavy and filled with heartbreak. The movie did a great job pulling the audience in with the cast to grieve as well

Mutha Angela can do no wrong. Do you see those ARMS those CHEEKBONES?? ( well after reading her workout regime I can see why she looks as good as she does). Even the guard’s outfits are so intricate. They really hit it out of the park with the accessories. The headpiece is stunning and the neck and arm cuffs. Sigh

Honorable mention. She looks stunning here. I loveeeee her haircut and the beading. She just exudes calm and serene. (even though she should’ve never been down in that water with that man). Should I just make a Wakanda Forever post???

THESE LOOKS RIGHT HERE. Now I know I know of all the things to go crazy for why this. Well in my real life, I am (what I call my style elevated relaxed). So of course, this is right up my alley! They are causal but they still have a level of power and class to it. Her tailored to a crisp blazer and o m g the jacket and pants to match fit top tier. Now I know that they made a Wakanda Forever collection and that is what Shuri is wearing here but if ANYONE sees that jacket for sale LET ME KNOW

Everyone looked soooo good. What are your favorites?
