Reel Fashion: Wakanda Forever
This is going to be a long one so buckle up b*tches lol
Black Panther is a film that has left an indelible mark on us. It first graced our screens in 2018. We were keenly aware of the cultural revolution it was set to ignite. Until then, African American superheroes were scarce, let alone ones proud of their African heritage. The fervor surrounding the movie was unprecedented. People flocked to the theaters adorned in vibrant African prints, celebrating the triumph of this cinematic masterpiece. This post pays homage to Wakanda Forever. We cannot overlook the heart-wrenching loss of the illustrious lead, Chadwick Boseman. He tragically succumbed to cancer in 2020. My admiration for him predates his portrayal of Wakanda’s king. “21 Bridges” holds a special place in my heart among his works. Chadwick, you will be eternally missed.
Moving on to the topic, “Wakanda Forever” boasts an array of stunning outfits and memorable lines. The legendary Ruth E. Carter, the creative genius behind these designs, delivered exactly what we needed. Ruth E. Carter has extensive experience from films like “Do the Right Thing” and “Black Panther.” Here are some of my top favorites.
